State Attorney Ed Brodsky announced today that Kimberly Meredith was sentenced after an open plea in front of Judge Brewer to an Adjudication of Guilt, 1 year and 1 day Department of Corrections followed by 10 years of probation. Sentencing was held at the Sarasota County Courthouse on 09/24/26.

The lead prosecutor in the case, Assistant State Attorney Amanda Morris commented,

“The Defendant in this case was put in a position of trust as being the bookkeeper and violated that trust by using the businesses finances for her own personal use. The State Attorney’s Office wants to remind employers to conduct background checks and to always monitor their financial statements and internal books each month.”
